The Cliff Wheeler Band won't need much introduction to fans of Carolina Indie Fest - they've performed every year since Indie was born in 2021. Typically they close out Friday night & Cliff has a penchant for going longer than the festival's requested 60 minutes of all original music (noone is complaining about that!)
Blues, country and rock are all influences here. Cliff is a natural storyteller so his lyrics add a manner of almost folk or acoustic singer songwriter aspect to his music. His stories are are often centered on tough times, and that's where the blues element creeps in. Personally I get swept up into the music and miss the lyrics altogether sometimes. That's one of the reasons why Cliff closing out our first night is a good idea, he will keep you rocking and leave you wanting to come back for day two of Indie.
There's a lot of music from The Cliff Wheeler Band you can enjoy - Hard Livin' Man is a good place to start, as is Sunshine. One of the first songs I heard from him was Creeper & while it doesn't get as much attention it's a personal favorite. Cliff takes the stage at 8:45pm on Friday, May 23rd at Carolina Indie Fest.
