Carolina Indie Fest is all about original music, but beginning later this week you have an opportunity to experience an approximation of a rock and roll original at Temple Theatre in downtown Sanford.
The nonprofit professional theater will stage "All Shook Up," an original musical loosely based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and featuring the music of one Elvis Presley.
"It’s 1955 and a guitar-playing young man rides into a square little town in a square little state and changes everything and everyone he meets," reads the Temple's website. "This hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as 'Heartbreak Hotel,' 'Hound Dog,' 'Jailhouse Rock,' and 'Don’t Be Cruel.'"
Beginning on April 13, showtimes are Thursdays at 2 p.m., Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. through April 30.
Buy your tickets here, and be sure to mark your calendar for even more live music at Carolina Indie Fest on May 12 and 13 at Hugger Mugger Brewing in downtown Sanford!
