What Are We Drinking at Indie?

There are drink options galore at Carolina Indie Fest ranging from beer/wine/THC drinks to coffee, lemonade, mocktails and more. Let's dive in!

With the stage sited on the grounds of Hugger Mugger Brewing guests will have access to 18 beers, two rotating ciders from James Creek and Botanist & Barrel, a selection of wine, craft soda and our made-in-house lemon lime THC drink Spryke. There are two beers of note that were brewed in collaboration with our festival sponsors:

Common Defense Belgian Blonde (5.5% ABV) - Indie Fest sponsor Common Defense is a veteran led nonprofit looking to bring veterans together to confront challenges to democratic rule. Sanford's own Lindsey Knapp is helping raise awareness and advocate for Common Defense's mission by trekking 300 miles across this state in an effort that will end at Carolina

Indie Fest on Saturday. Brewer David says the Blonda has "crisp and rounded Belgian funkyness. Very easy to drink. Pilsner and aromatic malts are the base for this beer. There is some orange zest spice in the finish and hops are quite green for a Belgian style." Sounds like a perfect, easy drinking Fall beer.

Amber Hammer Guatemalan Amber Ale (6.2% ABV) - Raven Forge Games is an anchor business in downtown Sanford, drawing thousands of visitors every month for its new game selection and well moderated role playing games. This is not their first rodeo with sponsoring a beer and while I can't claim to understand why it's a Guatemalan Amber Ale I do know this is our first amber style beer. Brewer David says it's a "mild amber that has been brewed with a generous amount of maize, some crystal malts and a throw of chocolate malt for color. This beer has nice candy corn sweetness and light to medium body. Hops are for balance." No saving throw needed here, you're going to gain hit points drinking this one!

What about our Non Alcohol (NA) options at Indie? There are plenty, check this out:

Charlatte Mobile Coffee (both days) - find Charlatte next to the Open Air Book Fair serving all

manner of coffees including my favorite (Americano), lattes (of course) and even pumpkin spiced coffees (it's gonna be chilly at night!)

The Tonic Garden (Friday only) - dirty sodas, energy drinks & garden waters are all on the menu at this mobile specialty drinks stop. This, and all other drinks vendors, are found mixed in with the vendors in public parking.

Mystical Mixes (both days) - mocktails topped with optional "edible shimmer dust"

Lemon Kissed (both days) - this mother and daughter owned company offers hand squeezed lemonade and more. Take it to the next level by making your own radler's with half lemonade and half lighter beers such as our Kolschinator or Epidemic of Pils.

Hemp Nation (both days) - check out their Elevation Station right next to the Muscle Balance massage chairs. You might just melt away. The Elevation Station will have THC beverages.
