Jesse DeConto, front man for the Pinkerton Raid is a lot like many of us - dismayed by many of the events of the world at large but firm in his belief that we are made to love one another. He's a throwback to an decades old era of protest songs where a confluence of artists produced music leaning into the need for peace, forgiveness, love, charity & the best of humanity.
Folk is at the heart of the Pinkerton Raid sound - entirely appropriate with the word "folk" meaning people or tribe. It's more than that, though. Not quite protest songs but terribly soulful and rich it has hints of a religious revival. It's a wonderful thing however you describe it. Jesse is bringing a five piece band with him to Carolina Indie Fest so you'll experience the full effect of his talents and force of his convictions.
The Pinkerton Raid plays at 4:30pm on Saturday, September 27th. I strongly recommend listening to The Rant's interview with Jesse to learn more about his unique journey to the stage - he is a thoughtful and sensitive man of our time.
