Kara Grainger is an Australian born blues artist who has opened for some great artists - Buddy Guy, Peter Frampton, Robert Plant, Heart & Taj Mahal among others. Her first solo album charted in the Top 40 on Americana charts for 38 weeks. Her music hit #3 on the Billboard Blues album charts in 2018. She can belt it out, share a quiet story of heartbreak or take a sultry tone to her music.

Kara is an amazing artist and she found her way onstage at Carolina Indie Fest because I was looking for a blues act for our Blues Brews and BBQ festival. The timing for that didn't work out but Indie Fest this Fall was a good fit for her schedule. If you didn't know we find new artists in all sorts of ways - we run a ReverbNation campaign for each fest, I also look at who's playing at live music venues across central North Carolina throughout the year, we get word of mouth recommendations, unsolicited submissions by email and over social media, and sometimes I stalk artists I like to see who they're following and who follow them. We're working on a way to submit through this page as well sometime this year.
