Introducing ... Corey Stevenson

Before I get to Corey I've got a confession to make. I'm a quiet fan of classic country music. It wasn't something I wanted necessarily, my affection for classic country came from a job I held working in a hospital deleting old outdated records from a database. It was not a sexy job, I sat in a windowless room with a very quiet woman many decades my senior. She brought a radio to work and played classic country music all day long. I asked if we could listen to anything else and she said no. Tough times!

It wasn't until years later that I realized I was either suffering Stockholm syndrome or I actually liked George Strait and many who came before him. Now, I'm not saying Corey Stevenson is George Strait but I do think he embraces a lot of the elements of classic country that I like & I find that classic style very appealing. Strait was one who brought back a classic style at a time when country music was headed into a pop music direction & to my ear that's where Corey's music often sits as well.

Corey has a really interesting story to tell as well. Check out his interview with the Rant.
