It's official - Carolina Indie Fest will return for the 9th time on September 25th & 26th. There's

a lot that stays the same, like 10 bands playing on stage over two days, and there are some things that changed since our May 2026 Indie Fest. Here's a look at what's on tap at this Fall's Indie Fest:
all vendors are now in the public parking lot at the corner of Steele and Cole Streets. The City of Sanford and Downtown Sanford Inc helped facilitate closing a small section of Steele Street adjacent to the vendors for food trucks. Over time it's become a big challenge to get some of the food trucks into the parking lot & they've started parking on the street and serving. That's not safe & we appreciate the help in making a safe environment for all our festival goers;
underneath the parking deck we are hosting Laser Tag which is sponsored, and run, by Downtown Sanford's own Rogue Toys. There are times with open play for all ages & then times for more structured games for folks who want that;
in an Indie Fest first we have TWO sponsored festival beers. We are planning some fun things around those beer releases, watch for details on the sponsors, the beers and their names, and the promotions very soon;
readers rejoice - we host an Open Air Book Fair with book sellers, authors & some book friendly food and drink;
readers also ought rejoice as local news source and gadlfy of the Sandhills, The Rant, interviews the bands and gives us a deep dive with our entertainment at the festival;
we invite five food trucks each day for a mini food truck rodeo on site. In addition to the food trucks we have vendors with sweets, pickled delights, fresh baked bread and more;
when we get to September we will start selling VIP tickets for the brewery area - those are a great deal with food & beverage included as well as the best seats in the house.
To reach a 9th Indie Fest is a remarkable achievement for a festival that is entirely sponsored by the community in order to make it free for everyone. Take a minute to think of another music festival, not supported by local government, that is free and open to the public - the answer will tell you just how special this event is as well as how special the people are who make it possible. Please thank them when you see their company listed, without them none of this happens.
We are looking forward to an awesome Carolina Indie Fest, hope you will join us!
